Global atmospheric CO₂ concentration

Global atmospheric CO₂ concentration

Atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration is measured in parts per million (ppm).
I visualized such data comparing the levels in AD 1, in 1900 and in 2023.
“Prior to the Industrial Revolution, CO2 levels were consistently around 280 ppm for almost 6,000 years of human civilization. Since then, humans have generated an estimated 1.5 trillion tons of CO2 pollution, much of which will continue to warm the atmosphere for thousands of years.” noaa.gov
Long-term trends in CO₂ concentrations can be measured at high-resolution using preserved air samples from ice cores.
